Travels Across the UK: Manchester 7th October 2013.

After a great night in Edinburgh, we made our way to Prince street station relatively early to catch a train down to Manchester. I’m pretty sure it was no later than 5:45 in the morning. The train journey was substantially long and therefore Madi and myself decided to spend most of it sleeping. Upon arrival in Manchester, it was far too early for any shops to be actually open. We chose to wasted time by walking around the city centre.
We also chose to pass some time by sitting by the corn exchange whilst I called Sonia. After our long phone conversation, Madi and I felt that it was an appropriate time to head to Taco Bell for lunch.  We tried to get some tap water to drink from a baguette store but they would not give us tap water for free. This in my opinion an injustice. I feel that each human being should have the fundamental right to free water. That shouldn’t be something that you should have to pay for especially if it is from a tap. My belief is rooted in the bare facts that water is a basic necessity for survival.
Eventually we found somewhere to get a drink of water for free and ended up at taco bell and enjoyed a great meal. I was so hungry at that point and decided I would treat myself to a good Mexican brunch.

The Big Box was so filling, there were churros, soft tacos, burritos and just wow.

My favorite thing about taco bell is the salsa sauces that have creative and often hilarious random things written on them.

After our lunch we met up with Kiya and company before heading off to our hotel. This time we decided to get a room in the travelodge that we always stayed in before. No more, of that creepy ass ‘murder motel’ /  ’horror film’ motel that we stayed in the last time. Never again.  I spent most of our time in our hotel after check in deciding what to wear out of my remaining outfits. I was in great fear that I had actually under packed for this trip. After a shower, I finally decided on this outfit.

I also really  liked my make up in Manchester even though it was virtually not much at all compared to other nights.
Once we were all ready we decided to head out to the Manchester Academy to drink with Lisa and Cayla and their friend. Obviously on the way, Madi and I got our favorite flavor of dragon soop from Londis, Vanilla Cherry. I’m not sure what it is about this flavor, but it tastes so much like Ice cream and it is something that isn’t available down south.
After our drinks, it was almost time to head in to the venue. We got more drinks as we usually do and checked out some of the getaway plans set again with our friends. We watched a few of the bands play and then went upstairs to have more drinks and just catch up with people.

I enjoy  hats even if they aren’t mine.

After the show, all of our group decided to go next door to a bar called Big Hands. I really liked the atmosphere in the bar despite the fact that it was sort of small. I don’t think I bought anything to drink there. Half way through the night I remember leaving with Kiya to go over to McDonald’s. I was super hungry and therefore decided it would be an ace idea to go get a big mac. Upon return to the bar, I continued to hang with my friends. We befriended a Finnish band which was absolutely hilarious.

At some point in the night Kellin came in to Big Hands and just hung about with some of the guys in Hands Like Houses as well. I also got to meet Katie and Jodye who are absolutely lovely.  We left Big Hands close to closing time. Some time before me and Madi went to sleep we had a hilarious argument over water and whether she should be given it whilst drunk.
Anyways, Manchester seriously is one of my favorite cities. I have never enjoyed a city quite as much as Manchester. The fact that there is a taco bell in the city just makes me so happy about everything there is in life. The friends are great too. I cannot wait for my next trip up to Manchester to see everyone I know up there again especially as the train from Cardiff to Manchester is not all all that expensive. I was however upset about the fact that Stephanie could not make it out to see us that time.
