Food: Pretty eclairs at Maître Choux

Hey all,  just another speedy post by me again! Today I met my friend D who was an exchange student during my time at the London School of Economics and was visiting all the way from Austin, TX.  We were in South Kensington to see the robot exhibit at the science museum and I remembered that I had always wanted to try the incredibly pretty eclairs from Maître Choux. The store is situated a stone's throw away from the tube station  and is easily identifiable by the colourful display of eclairs that you can see from meters away.

Once inside, me and D took our time to decide on what we were going to get. It was definitely a challenge to decide on what we wanted to purchase. There were so many different flavours and I was torn between purchasing the the Summer Raspberry Pink Eclair (the pink one in the first picture) and the Violet and Wild Berries Eclair which is basically a mix of violet, raspberries and blueberries.  The staff were super friendly to us and advised that their most popular product was the Hazelnut and Milk Chocolate Treasure but I was not feeling the mood for milk chocolate as I am not a big chocolate fan as it stands. Eventually, I convinced myself to buy the Violet and Wild Berries Eclair on the basis that 1) it looked delicious ( they all did) and 2) purple is my favourite colour. I don't even regret the decision, for £5.20 this was an absolutely tasty and pretty treat. The inside of the eclair was bursting with purple mousseline which was incredibly light and delicious. Unlike some mousse fillings, this was in no way too rich.

D on the other hand bought the Hazelnut and Milk Chocolate Treasure eclair which he described as incredible, the Pistachio and Strawberry Choux and the lady serving us threw in a free Chouquette which he also really enjoyed. I definitely recommend that everyone try their delicious and very very instagramable eclairs. The next time I head back I am definitely going to try their Red Love Eclair ( red one pictured above) which has a Macaron top and is filled with raspberry and vanilla. What are your favourite pastry places in London around the world? I'd love to check them out!
